Driving Growth at RSM UK
Our Consulting division, which encompasses multiple teams from Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing, plays a critical role in supporting middle-market clients. Role Overview
This exciting opportunity as a Senior Manager in our Accounting and Financial Reporting (AFR) team is based in our Birmingham office. The AFR team, part of our broader Accounting and Business Advisory service, focuses on delivering financial reporting solutions and advisory services to a range of clients, including large corporations, private equity-backed businesses, and family-owned enterprises.
In this role, you’ll divide your time equally between client-facing work and business development efforts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Project Leadership: Leading a portfolio of accounting and financial reporting projects, such as year-end statutory accounts preparation, pre-audit readiness reviews, and bespoke financial consultancy.
- Client Management: Acting as the main point of contact for your clients, ensuring smooth project delivery, adherence to timelines, and top-notch service quality.
- Team Development: Coaching junior team members, managing their performance, and ensuring quality standards are met across all assignments.
- Business Development: Contributing to the firm’s growth by identifying new client opportunities, supporting the Partner group on proposals, and participating in broader multi-service pitches.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
- At least three years of experience in a managerial role within professional practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and accounting principles.
- Proven expertise in managing client portfolios and delivering financial reporting services.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
- Strong project management capabilities and the ability to mentor junior staff.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
