About the Team
Our Family Office & Private Client (FO&PC) team comprises 162 dedicated professionals across the UK, led by 5 Partners, 3 Associate Partners, and 12 Directors.
We operate as a national practice with five main service areas:
- Transactions and Entrepreneurial Shareholders
- Ultra High Net Worth Individuals
- International Tax
- Partnerships
- Investigations and Enquiries
We serve a variety of high-net-worth clients, including stakeholders from privately held businesses, executives of multinational corporations, and senior members of private equity firms. Our expertise also extends to advising Trusts, Estates, and Partnerships.

The Role
We are seeking a Manager to join our FO&PC team in the North and Scotland region, specifically based in Edinburgh. This advisory-focused role will involve working with high-net-worth individuals on both UK and international tax matters, as well as advising entrepreneurial businesses and shareholder-owned companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Service Delivery: Ensure high-quality personal tax services for our clients.
- Client Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of complex clients, providing personal tax advice on matters such as inheritance tax, capital gains tax, income tax, and international tax issues. Identify opportunities for advising clients on these tax matters.
- Innovative Problem Solving: Employ original and creative thinking to tackle tax issues, leading to tailored tax advice and solutions for one-off assignments.
- Project Management: Oversee tax advisory assignments, ensuring deadlines are met while adhering to risk management and compliance protocols.
- Financial Oversight: Manage work in progress, ensuring timely billing and cash collection.
- Staff Development: Guide the performance and career development of partially and newly qualified staff.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant or tax advisor with experience in a personal tax-focused setting and a diverse client base.
- Strong Academic Background: Demonstrated academic excellence and a keen understanding of the challenges faced by private clients.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities along with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Client-Centric Approach: An insightful understanding of client issues and a capability to deliver customized tax solutions.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative independently.
- Commitment: A strong dedication to clients, colleagues, and KPMG.
- Analytical Skills: High-level analytical skills combined with a commercial mindset for problem-solving and providing advice.
