As a Packaging Designer, you will be tasked with designing packaging for both owned brands and wholesale products. Your designs will help communicate our brand values, drive product sales, and reduce environmental impact through sustainable packaging practices.
In addition to packaging, the Packaging Designer will also be responsible for designing engaging in-store displays that effectively communicate our brand’s message and highlight the benefits of our products. Main Responsibilities of the Packaging Designer
1. Development of Packaging Design
As a Packaging Designer, you will be responsible for creating original, visually appealing, and functional packaging designs that align with our brand’s guidelines. You will ensure that each packaging design meets all technical specifications, as well as regulatory requirements. Your role will be integral in producing packaging that not only looks great on the shelf but also protects and presents the product in the best way possible.
2. In-Store Display Design
Beyond packaging, the Packaging Designer will also create attractive in-store displays. These displays should grab consumer attention and effectively communicate the product’s benefits. Working closely with the B2B team, you will design displays that convey our brand message and resonate with consumers. These designs will play a key role in driving product sales and enhancing the overall shopping experience.
3. Research on Materials and Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of our mission, and as a Packaging Designer, you will research and recommend sustainable packaging materials and solutions. You will stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and innovations in packaging materials and techniques to ensure that we minimize our environmental impact while delivering functional and beautiful designs.
4. Prototyping and Testing
The Packaging Designer will create prototypes of packaging designs for testing and approval. This process will include performing tests to ensure that the packaging is durable, functional, and maintains its integrity throughout the product lifecycle. You will oversee this testing phase to ensure that the designs meet both aesthetic and functional standards.
5. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
A large part of the Packaging Designer role involves collaborating with various teams across the organization. You will work closely with the creative, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure that packaging solutions are both consistent and effective. Your ability to communicate and brainstorm ideas with different departments will be critical in supporting product launches and marketing campaigns.
6. Supplier Coordination
As a Packaging Designer, you will liaise with external vendors and suppliers to source materials and ensure the high-quality production of your designs. You will manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that the packaging design process is executed on time and cost-effectively.
7. Graphic Design and Branding
In addition to functional design, you will also be responsible for creating graphics and visuals that enhance brand recognition and appeal. The Packaging Designer will ensure that all packaging designs align with the brand’s visual identity and maintain consistency across all materials, including in-store displays.
8. Project Management
The Packaging Designer will manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. Keeping organized records of design projects, revisions, and final approvals will be essential for maintaining smooth project workflows.
