Impact & Responsibilities of a Data Analyst

As a Data Analyst in the Industry Fundamentals team, you will play a crucial role in managing and processing financial data. The Data Analyst position involves the collection, standardization, and validation of corporate financial reports, which include data such as income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and other key financial parameters.

Key Tasks for the Data Analyst Role:

  • Process Financial Data: The Data Analyst will apply technical and financial knowledge to process financial data for the Fundamentals teams, ensuring the data is accurate and applied correctly in the product.
  • Collect and Standardize Data: One of the core responsibilities is the collection, standardization, and validation of corporate financial data from annual, semi-annual, or quarterly reports. The Data Analyst ensures that all the data adheres to industry standards and is reliable for analysis.
  • Deliver Quality Results: The Data Analyst must meet predefined individual and team targets, delivering high-quality results with excellence and precision.
  • Work within Parameters: The role requires working within set parameters and with supervision to meet quality and performance standards while ensuring that tasks are completed accurately.
  • Stay Updated with Industry Knowledge: A successful Data Analyst will keep up-to-date with knowledge of financial content sets, industry trends, and reporting standards. This allows you to adapt to new changes and improve the data analysis process.
  • Contribute Ideas for Improvement: The Data Analyst will provide input for new data collection methods and ideas for enhancing the product. Your insights will help improve the quality and accuracy of financial data.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: The Data Analyst will also troubleshoot any issues related to the data and provide support to the team to resolve challenges that may arise.

Required Qualifications for Data Analyst Position

  • Education: A BBA Finance, MBA Finance, or ACCA Affiliate (maximum 2 papers left for Finalist) or a relevant accounting/finance degree is required for the Data Analyst role.
  • Experience: The ideal candidate for this position is someone with fresh to 3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, financial reporting, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify business and legal risks and opportunities are essential. A Data Analyst must be able to communicate effectively with different audiences and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility: The Data Analyst must be flexible and willing to work in any shift, as per the business requirement.
