Role Overview: Senior Manager, Audit – Cambridge

As a Senior Manager in our Cambridge Audit team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of audit clients. You’ll support the Partners with client work, business development, and group management, with occasional involvement in special projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Management:
  • Ensure clients receive proactive and efficient service, exceeding their expectations.
  • Work closely with client Partners and colleagues to keep everyone updated.
  • Plan and manage audit work, set budgets, and ensure awareness of clients’ commercial needs.
  • Manage client billing and ensure audits are completed on time.
  • Team Management:
  • Organize staff for projects, set clear expectations, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained and manage their workload effectively.
  • Provide feedback on performance and address any staff concerns.
  • Participate in both internal and external training programs.
  • Business Development:
  • Help prepare proposals for new business and attend marketing events.
  • Identify opportunities to grow business with current clients.
  • Build personal contacts and network to develop new opportunities for Evelyn Partners.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • An accounting qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA)
  • Extensive external audit experience in a professional services setting
  • Experience working with entrepreneurial, SME, OMB, and AIM-listed clients
  • A passion for business development, including attending events and preparing proposals
  • Strong understanding of accounting and auditing standards and industry-specific regulations
  • Experience managing and motivating staff to ensure top performance
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with clients, Partners, and colleagues
  • Good organizational skills to meet the needs of clients, staff, and Partners
