Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the Stewarding Department, ensuring adherence to food safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards.
- Manage inventory and ensure that kitchen supplies and materials are always stocked and stored appropriately.
- Estimate and communicate daily and weekly needs to staff, ensuring smooth operations.
- Monitor and control operational costs, working within the allocated budget.
- Participate in the formulation of the Annual Operating Budget, including operational costs, equipment needs, and operational requirements for food and beverage operations.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate the Stewarding staff, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and perform at their highest potential.
- Lead by example, demonstrating high standards of performance, professionalism, and decision-making in the department.
- Foster team collaboration through effective communication and ongoing training.
- Ensure staff understands work expectations and follows operational guidelines.
Exceptional Customer Service
- Ensure that customer satisfaction remains a priority, delivering services that meet and exceed guest expectations.
- Empower colleagues to provide exceptional service, creating a positive customer experience.
- Resolve guest concerns swiftly, ensuring a seamless service experience.
Performance and Planning
- Develop and track departmental performance objectives, exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals.
- Present monthly reports on department activities, progress, and financial performance.
- Create weekly schedules for staff, ensuring that appropriate staffing levels are maintained according to business needs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The Chief Stewarding should possess strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service. Experience in kitchen or food service operations is highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of managing a dynamic team, and have a strong understanding of cost control and budgeting.
