The Director – Business Development will lead the charge in promoting and positioning IQ-EQ Group’s brand within South Africa, specifically targeting the African, Indian, and US markets. The role is pivotal in driving business development by establishing new client relationships and partnerships, enhancing IQ-EQ’s market presence, and contributing to revenue growth in key sectors such as Fund and Asset Managers, Debt & Capital Markets, and Private & Institutional Asset Owners (PIAO).

Responsibilities include promoting the brand, building client relationships, generating revenue, and developing market strategies to expand IQ-EQ’s presence in African, Indian, and US markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote IQ-EQ’s brand and product offerings to clients in various sectors including Fund & Asset Managers, Corporate Clients, and Private Institutions.
  • Manage and build relationships with clients, business partners, and key stakeholders across the African, Indian, and US markets.
  • Lead sales strategies to achieve revenue and business growth targets.
  • Assist in developing the Business Unit’s strategy and marketing materials.
  • Establish and maintain a strong pipeline of clients and introducers.
  • Ensure the timely provision of proposals, RFPs, and presentations to clients.
  • Manage financial and contractual relationships with clients.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and networking events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance brand visibility and generate new business.
  • Build a strong business partner engagement plan for continuous growth.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Degree in business, financial services, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in business development or sales within the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to the African and Indian markets.
  • Skills: Strong business acumen, ability to lead cross-functional teams, client relationship management, and excellent communication skills.
  • Desired Experience: Experience in fund structures, regulations in African and Indian markets is highly advantageous.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to build networks and drive results in business development.
  • Strong leadership and persuasion skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of financial services and market regulations in South Africa, Africa, and India.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess client needs and market trends.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and closing high-value deals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet business development targets.
  • Knowledge of Fund Administration and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • A degree in a relevant field (business, economics, finance) is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in business development, with exposure to financial services or fund administration.
  • Experience in African and Indian markets is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to drive growth and develop client relationships at a senior level.
