**About the Role**

The Finance Analyst position is designed to provide essential support to one of our most critical business areas during a period of significant investment and transformation. In this role, you will manage all month-end activities for the Technology, Product, and Change & Transformation (C&T) divisions. Additionally, you will assist the Senior Finance Business Partner with various reporting tasks, budgeting, and ad hoc analyses.

This position offers ample opportunities for interaction with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior-level executives. As a key representative of the finance team, you will serve as a subject matter expert in both operational expenditures (opex) and capital expenditures (capex).

**Key Responsibilities**

– **Data Synthesis**: You will be responsible for simplifying and synthesizing both financial and non-financial data to provide clear insights.
– **Ad Hoc Support**: Assist the UK Tech team with various ad hoc requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
– **Month-End Activities**: Manage the completion of month-end tasks, including journals, outlook reporting, and financial summaries.
– **Business Liaison**: Collaborate with business teams outside of month-end to gain insights into upcoming financial forecasts.
– **Budget and LTFP Process**: Contribute to the budgeting and Long-Term Financial Planning processes.
– **Analytical Enhancement**: Increase the analytical output from the UK Finance team through focused variance analysis, capex tracking, forecasting, and depreciation analysis.
– **Monthly Financial Reviews**: Work with team members to prepare for monthly financial review (MFR) meetings and contribute to discussions.
– **Process Improvement**: Lead initiatives aimed at improving processes for the benefit of the FP&A Central team and the broader FP&A function.

**How You Will Work**

– **Journal Management**: Own and maintain accurate journal workbooks to ensure data integrity.
– **System Proficiency**: Demonstrate competence in all relevant systems and applications, including OneStream, GSuite, and Microsoft Office.
– **Finance Priorities**: Utilize your business knowledge to align your work with finance priorities, focusing on key risks and opportunities.
– **Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with various finance teams to achieve common business goals.
– **Technology Exploration**: Investigate new technologies and tools to support ongoing process improvement initiatives.

**Qualifications and Experience**

We are looking for candidates with:

– Strong analytical skills, capable of navigating complex queries and spotting errors.
– Functional knowledge of accounting principles, including profit and loss statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
– Excellent communication skills for effective interaction within and outside the finance team.
– Proven ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders effectively.
– A talent for coordinating complex inputs from various sources, synthesizing them into coherent narratives.
– A mindset focused on continuous improvement and agility in the face of change.

**Experience and Qualifications Needed**

– Ideally, candidates should be part-qualified accountants or actively pursuing a recognized accounting qualification.
– Previous experience as a Finance Analyst is beneficial but not mandatory.
– Familiarity with operational and capital expenditures is a plus, though not essential.

**Work Environment**

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. We offer a hybrid working model that allows flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will be required to be in the Nottingham office three days a week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements that suit your needs.
