Job Description

As an Indoor Delivery Officer at the Burnie Delivery Centre, you’ll play an essential role in organizing mail and parcels, ensuring prompt and reliable delivery service to the local community. This part-time position involves manual sorting and teamwork, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment at Australia Post.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mail and Parcel Sorting: Sort mail and parcels manually, ensuring efficient next-day delivery.
  • Customer Service: Provide assistance at the customer service hatch and manage PO Box mail.
  • Heavy Lifting and Handling: Regularly handle heavy parcels and mail bags, lifting up to 16kgs.
  • Pallet Jack Operation: Use manual pallet jacks and stackers to move and organize large mail volumes.
  • Van Driving: Drive a van to transport items between the facility and other sites.

You’re detail-oriented, reliable, and enjoy working independently or with a team. With excellent memory and a strong work ethic, you’re motivated to support your community by helping maintain smooth operations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and move up to 16kgs regularly.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in sorting and handling items.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to assist customers effectively.
  • License: Current Australian driver’s license is required.
  • Pallet Jack Experience: Experience using pallet jacks or stackers is a plus but not essential.

Education and Experience
