Job Description
Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA Inspector will oversee quality control activities, ensuring adherence to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. This role requires proficiency in inspection, data collection, and sanitation protocols to enhance food safety processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspection: Monitor production and packaging areas for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Sanitation Oversight: Perform daily sanitation verifications, allergen cleaning checks, and chemical verifications.
- Data Collection: Maintain accurate records in systems like Red Zone, including sanitation logs and production quality monitoring.
- Employee Hygiene: Ensure all employees follow hygiene protocols, including attire and procedures.
- Non-Conformance Reporting: Initiate non-conforming tags for raw and packaging materials as required.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety guidelines to ensure adherence to workplace regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Line Leads, Production Supervisors, and other team members to meet quality compliance objectives.
- Sampling and Testing: Collect and analyze Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), Enterobacteriaceae (EB), and allergen protein swabs.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and stock personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning chemicals, and tools.
- Food Safety Culture: Promote adherence to HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards, fostering a strong food safety culture.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We seek a detail-oriented QA Inspector with knowledge of food safety fundamentals and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and Qualifications
Core Competencies
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP principles.
- Proficiency in sanitation protocols and allergen management.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, checklists, and part codes.
Education and Experience
- Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 1 year in quality assurance in a food manufacturing setting.
- Experience with Red Zone manufacturing software is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.
Compensation
- Pay: $23.00 per hour (CA-specific pay scale based on responsibilities and location).
