Job Purpose

As an RTR Accountant at Burberry, you will be a key member of our award-winning finance team. You will collaborate across all business functions to prepare and support month-end processes, balances, and reports. Your work will involve a variety of transactions, including payroll, accruals, prepayments, intercompany charges, fixed assets, and inventory management.

This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave. It will be based in our Queen Street, Leeds office, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and prepare Record to Report (RTR) balances.
  • Manage month-end processes, including:
    • I am preparing and executing journal entries.
    • We are agreeing on intercompany positions.
    • We are reconciling and confirming specific balance sheet accounts, including sub-ledger accounts (e.g., Accounts Receivable, VAT, Inter-company).
  • Prepare and present variance analyses, review reports, and escalate issues to the broader finance team.
  • Complete additional financial information for half-year and year-end reporting.
  • Prepare analyses and support for internal and external audit requirements, coordinating with auditors and colleagues across the business as needed.
  • Respond promptly to ad hoc queries, delivering high service to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Group Policies, including the operation of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with process owners and colleagues to identify efficiencies and drive process improvements.

Personal Profile

  • Part-qualified accountant or currently pursuing an accounting qualification.
  • Experience in an accounting team within a Shared Service environment is an advantage.
  • Strong Excel skills, particularly with large data sets.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
