Supervision and Support

As a Security Supervisor, your major responsibilities include providing supervisory guidance and support to all security officer colleagues within the Security Department. Your leadership will be vital in developing a cohesive team dedicated to maintaining a safe environment. You will regularly communicate expectations and standards, ensuring that all team members are well-informed and equipped to handle their duties.

Emergency Management

In times of crisis, the Security Supervisor will mitigate emergencies and liaise with government agencies or private security companies. This involves assessing situations, coordinating responses, and ensuring effective communication throughout the incident. Safety Inspections

Compliance and Training

The Security Supervisor will enforce Fire & Life Safety policies and procedures as mandated by the FDNY Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) curriculum. You will assist in training all colleagues on emergency procedure preparedness, ensuring that everyone is equipped to handle emergencies efficiently and effectively. Compliance with FLHSS guidelines is a must, and you’ll learn to utilize Guardtek software to monitor this compliance accurately.

Daily Operations

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Security Department. This includes effectively enforcing the hotel’s rules and regulations and managing the Lost & Found. As the Security Supervisor, you will also perform tasks and duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Security, responding promptly to requests from other departments and guests.

Setting an Example

Leading by example is a fundamental aspect of being a Security Supervisor. You will set a standard for your officers by strictly adhering to all hotel and departmental policies. Your professionalism will inspire your team and create a culture of accountability and integrity.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for the Security Supervisor role, you must hold a Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) license. Previous experience in a security role, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities are also essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and the capacity to learn multiple computer applications will be necessary for success in this role.
