Responsibilities of a Supervisor

As a Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations and ensure smooth functioning of your department. Your key responsibilities include:

1. Daily Department Oversight

• Conduct daily department rounds to monitor operations.
• Assign tasks to store staff for efficient workflow.
• Coordinate with suppliers and buyers to ensure timely ordering and delivery.

2. Inventory and Quality Management

• Ensure the required quality and temperature standards are maintained.
• Perform FIFO (First In, First Out) checks to manage stock efficiently.
• Work on daily QA reports to maintain inventory accuracy.

3. Customer Interaction and Relationship Management

• Address customer complaints promptly, proposing effective solutions.
• Maintain and update customer files for accurate communication.
• Contact at least 10 customers weekly to understand their needs and expectations.

4. Market and Competitor Analysis

• Inspect daily gap checks to ensure stock availability.
• Check competitors’ promotions and provide feedback to the Buying Department for strategic planning.

5. Promotion and Signage Management

• Ensure accurate and attractive signage, both permanent and temporary.
• Monitor promotional displays, such as mass merchandising and endcaps, for effectiveness.

6. Safety and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP), health and safety regulations, and fire safety protocols.

Qualifications for the Supervisor Role

• Education: Intermediate or higher qualification.
• Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in retail or wholesale.
